User Comments
We thought it might be worthwhile to share a few of the comments from our customers. Rather than providing a list of users, we thought you might like to know why others have purchased our vehicle camera systems in the past, why they have continued to purchase our products over the years, and why they plan to stay with Falcon Direct!
Butler County Sheriff’s Department
When we have a problem, Eagleye and Falcon Direct take care of us. If the issue can’t be resolved by phone, they come to us, and they come quickly. We had a few issues relating to operational training and thought there might be a better product. Burch Falkner researched all available products and gave us an objective report with a promise to recommend a better product if one was available – there isn’t. We are staying with Falcon Direct. Sheriff Kenny Harden – Butler County AL Sheriff’s Dept.

We had put out bid specifications for a competitive product using a removable hard drive for data exchange. Falcon Direct responded to our bid and without degrading our proposed vendor, Burch Falkner made us aware of the benefits of Smart Card technology invited us to check out his products which we did. To make a long story short – we saw the light after reviewing the data supplied by Burch and talking to other users in our area. We made the switch to Eagleye and we’re glad we did! Chief Val Courtney – Centre AL PD.
Double Springs Police Department
Falcon Direct guided us every step of the way for getting the best value in selecting a vehicle camera system paid for by an ADECA grant. We were able to get the best equipment with the features we wanted and still stay within budget. When we asked for officer training, Burch Falkner came over at 5 O’clock on a Friday afternoon to give us an assist. When we had a problem with one of our cameras, a replacement was sent the very next day. I don’t know of any other vendor that provides that kind of service. Chief Kim Miller – Double Springs Alabama PD.
Limestone County Sheriff’s Department
We were about to purchase another brand when we found we could read a tag from 20 feet away. We liked the single piece construction of the competitive product, but after a demonstration we decided performance was more important than compact size. Burch Falkner at Falcon Direct assisted us in choosing the right equipment, preparing specifications, and developing operating standards both for patrol officers and administrative personnel. These people are good! Captain Fred Sloss – Limestone Co. AL SO.
Lincoln Police Department
We had been using a competitive single piece product. We had not been overly pleased with service (one of our units had been back for repair for over three weeks which left our car without a mirror). We asked Burch Falkner to demonstrate the Eagleye products to our Lieutenants. He not only did that – he offered to provide custom operator user manuals for our patrol officers. That’s the kind of service we appreciate. Investigator Chris White – Lincoln Alabama PD.
We saved the best till last!
We recently received an email that pretty much sums up the experience of many law enforcement agencies around the USA. We thought it was worth sharing. Here it is, unedited, as received....
I am a Patrol Lieutenant with the Harris County Sheriff's Office in Hamilton, Georgia. I am interested in receiving some more information on your camarea system. We purchased the Motorola MVDR system investing a large amount of our budget only to find out 11 months later to find out the system was upgraded and they no longer made parts for this unit. The storage unit needs to be upgraded already. This has been a nightmare. We have been suckered and shafted for the past 7 years on camara systems. The one prior to the current was the Seatcam. Needless to say we are very leary of new purchases but need to look at our options prior to spending anymore money. We have 28 units in our fleet. How much does your system cost? How long is your warranty? How much does it cost for the storage unit and software? How much does it store? Do you have a demo unit available to try for a couple of months? Can you give me a lease price option? Pros and Cons? Base your quote on 5 units to start. Is the Eagleye system on the Georgia Bid? We normally get 5 new cars a year and will more than likley phase out the current unit rather than upgrade all at one time. Any information will be appreciated.
And - here is our response.......
Seems like I have heard your story before......
I will answer your questions in the order of your inquiry. Relative to your request for additional information - complete information is available on our web site at www.eagleye4u.com. The prices are at the bottom of the page in the SYSTEM PLANNER section. On average, you can assume a cost of around $4,200 per car for a complete camera system with body microphone, front camera, rear seat camera with microphone, and GPS tracking. The standard factory warranty is 2 years. We recommend an enhanced service program known as TimeShare that can significantly reduce your maintenance cost while simultaneously reducing downtime (See www.info4u.us/EagleyeTimeShare.pdf).
Relative to the storage capacity - we use smart media cards. These are available in 4, 8, and 16 GB capacity with recording times of approximately 3 hours for the 4 GB card, 6 hours for the 8 GB card and 12 hours for the16 GB card which works about to about a weeks worth of recording for most customers (we generally recommend the 16 GB card).
The software is FREE! A smart media card reader can be added to any Windows PC for about $25 although we offer a dedicated computer just for archiving information which we offer as an option. Not necessary, but recommended.
We can arrange for an on-site demo or an installed demo for 60 days. There is a flat rate charge of $500 for a 60 day demo to cover installation cost, training, and equipment rental if the installation is made in Rome, GA. Add $250 for on-site installation. The rental charge applies to the purchase cost if you keep the unit. We are not on the Georgia State Contract but in a competitive bid situation, we always do very well. We give you value for your investment!
Relative to a lease (we call it government financing). On amounts of $15,000 or more, we can defer payment for up to one year with a single payment within 12 months (very popular with government agencies) or annualized payments for terms of up to five years. Obviously, there is some interest cost involved, but amoritizing the cost over 5 years is a good choice for those who want to replace an entire fleet at one time rather than a few units per year. We work with a governmental financing specialist who knows a lot more about this than I do. May I suggest that you give him a call? His name is Brad Schwobel. You can reach him at 800-299-2982 or visit his web site at www.highlandpublic.com. Relative to pricing on a lease basis, assume a total cost of $25,000 for five cameras with a dedicated PC, service plan, installation, etc. Brad can work you up some figures based on that amount (I am sending him a copy of this email).
Thanks for contacting us. Please feel free to contact any of the contacts listed on our web page. Additional references are available on request.
I will be glad to arrange for a demonstration at your convenience. Thanks again for contacting us. We look forward to serving you!
