We understand that we may not initially be the vendor of your choice. Maybe you've never heard of us. Both Digital Ally and ICOP are marketed to Law Enforcement users at the national level far more aggressively than Eagleye. Quite frankly, both Digital Ally and ICOP offer some unique features and they do a good job of promoting their products. There are others, such as Martel and WatchGuard, but the names we hear mentioned most often are the aforementioned. Seon is our major competitor for bus cameras and DriveCam is a prominent competitor for use in ambulances.
With that being said, we think it in noteworthy to mention that national marketing has little to do with local user operation. Our users expect (and receive), good quality video reproduction, simplified operating procedures (both for field officers and administrators), reliability, and fast service when required.
Both Digital Ally (DGLY) and ICOP (ICOP) are relatively new to the law enforcement market with Digital Ally founded in 2003 and ICOP in 2002. Digital Ally appears to be in a financially healthy condition although the sale of products only by a direct sales force and distributors leaves some unanswered question relative to product service. Operationally, there are some issues relating to a DVR viewer that eliminates the ability of the rear view mirror to perform it's intended function or a rear seat camera that provides only an upper torso view. ICOP appears to be in serious financial condition. A recent story in the Kansas City Business Journal is worthy of review for those desiring more information on the company. While longevity is not the sole indicator of a manufacturer’s ability to survive in an increasingly competitive market, it should be noted that both Eagleye and Falcon Direct are privately owned with Eagleye having been involved in the vehicle camera business since the early 90’s.
Both Digital Ally and ICOP products are unique. While we agree that uniqueness is nice, it should be remembered that performance and reliability are far more important in the long run than gimmicks such as cramming two cameras into an over sized mirror or yanking out your car radio and replacing it with a three station radio with built in digital video recorder. The fact is that a top quality video recorder, a monitor with adequate viewing area, and a high performance camera do take up a little space, but they get the job done.
I invite you to review our product offerings on this web page. Our prices are very competitive, the performance exceptional and the customer service unmatched by anyone regardless of brand or price.
